Bubbly Bows

Posted on April 10th, 2011 in Baby, Baby Accessories, Kids, Kids Accessories

You would think that since I have a little boy, and not a little girl, that I would have no interest in little girl things.  You would be wrong.

I ooh and ahhh over all the cute dresses and pretty shoes just like any other mother who loves baby things.  Which is why I saw these bows and knew I had to post about them.  In fact, I was tempted to buy some even though I have no one to wear them.  (I don’t think my husband would appreciate me putting them on my son just to see how they look.)

They’re from a company called Bubbly Bows and they offer novelty bows such as this crab:

butterfly:

horse:

and even a princess:

They also sell more traditional bows:

as well as headbands.

The point is, there’s something for everyone.  Well, unless you’re my son of course.

Wooden Puzzles Dwell Studio

Posted on March 11th, 2011 in Uncategorized

One of the first toys that my son seemed to “get” was the wooden puzzle.  And of course I promptly rushed out and bought another one as soon as I realized this.  Had I known that these puzzles by Dwell Studio were available, however, I would have gotten them instead.

They are unique - I’ve never seen a wooden puzzle just like them.  And trust me, I’ve seen a lot of wooden puzzles.

The pieces are large enough for little hands to grasp easily which is a huge part of putting together a puzzle.

And they’re cute which I guess is just a bonus but is important anyway.

Rugs Galore

Posted on March 10th, 2011 in Baby, Kids, Textiles, decor, nursery

When we put together our son’s nursery, we tried to tie everything to the rug - it was the centerpiece, if you will.  So I know how important rugs can be.  They can also make great accessories just to brighten up a room or better yet, to keep the floor warm for tiny, bare feet.

It’s hard to find a rug that does all that you’re looking for which is why I’ve been so impressed with the Posh Tots selection.  They have unusual rugs for little boys with animals on them:

or trucks and cars.

And to show I’m not biased, they have just as many rugs for a girl’s room too:

They’re reasonably priced too which makes them all the more attractive.  I’m definitely keeping this site in mind for our next nursery, which will hopefully be sooner than later.

Children Inspire Design

The creators of Children Inspire Design are pure genius.  They must be since they came up with items like these vintage animal cards (shown here in Portuguese):

I’m thinking of ordering some just as soon as my son grows out of his “tear everything he touches” phase.  Until then, I’ll have to admire them from afar.  But while I’m waiting, I’ll drool over their Global Counting Cards (which come in eleven languages),

and their Manners Cards.

I can hardly wait!

Mr. Robot Pillow

Posted on March 8th, 2011 in Uncategorized

Let me start this post by saying robots do nothing for me.  I’ve not really jumped on the robot bandwagon that’s been pulling its way around lately.  I mean they’re cute and all, but they don’t usually make my heart go aflutter.

Until now.

There’s something about these guys that just scream “BUY ME.”  I love their fresh colors, I love the size of them, I love that they come in two different sizes.  I love that they’re pillows instead of, say, a real robot, which I imagine would be really hard to cuddle with.  I just love them period.

All of this to say:  Mr. Robot, - you have stolen my heart.

Flatten Me

Posted on March 6th, 2011 in Books, Kids

I tried and tried to find some great pictures of this product because the pictures I was able to download don’t do it justice, which just means that you’ll need to go to the site to check it out for yourself.

The product in question is from a company called Flatten Me.  They sell children’s books that star none other than your own child.  Or you.  How cool is that?

There are books about underwater sea adventures or superhero dads.

They even offer cards and personalized wall art.

Now I haven’t seen these in person, but I’m very tempted to order one for our son.  I think he would get a kick out of seeing himself in the pages of his book.  Maybe then he’ll sit still for more than five minutes at a time?  Hmm… we’ll have to see.
